The owner asked us to improve a one bedroom apartment, by making the kitchen lighter, with the sink below a window; turning the balcony into an office; and the creation of a dressing area in the hallway. With a total area of 50m2, gross, and to be habitable for 1-3 people, scope was limited, given the existing placement of built-in storage systems and cupboards.
For the kitchen, the water heater was cached under the worktop, with an extendable window opener.
The upper tier of the locker room is designed for hats and scarves, the lower tiers for outerwear for both adults and children. A large closet along the living room wall helps insulate the apartment from lift noise outside.
The water facilities were designed separately. The toilet room hides a 50-litre water reservoir, and utilities. The acrylic bath was converted into a whirlpool.
